Wow

There must be some other way to ensure our President's safety, right? Because this seems kind of unreasonable- no email while in office?

  1. My guess is that this is more legal security than safety security, but I guess theoretically a hacker could use his Blackberry to track his location, no?

  2. Yeah, my understanding is that certain requirements regarding documentation of presidential correspondence have made the Blackberry an issue. I think that it boils down to whether or not Obama wants all his email documented publicly or none of it, but I could be completely mistaken.

    I do think that theoretically someone could track Obama based on the Blackberry's signal, but that seems too far-fetched to be a real concern. Technology is crazy.

  3. Well I guess it sounds like a legitimate danger, the way you guys describe it, but it's unfortunate, given what a large part of the campaign's success relied on the internet and constant communication - it's clearly an aspect of what makes Obama the politician that he is.
