To play a bit of devil's advocate: even if the moderate Republicans work out details beforehand the nature of being in a (recently) fledgling minority party could lead to infighting amongst Republicans in general. Okay, that point is tough to defend. Whatever. If this were to happen, though, Obama might be pressured to veer much further left than he might with a more balanced Senate. This brings us back to a debate about one-party dominance of multiple branches of government. In that debate I tend to agree with Chris that while it could be interesting/fun/hilarious to watch Obama with a rubber-stamping Congress, the dangers presented by such dominance are too significant for it to be a good situation in the long run.
