Blagojevich Update: Jesse Jackson, Jr.

As you've probably heard by now, Jackson is allegedly implicated in the tapes as being willing to pay for the Senate seat in question. If so, a potentially enormous political career has ended before it even begun.

  1. I agree that Jackson, Jr. has, in sports terms, tremendous upside and that if this is all true he very well may have Michael Vick-ed his career (though Kennedys have politically survived worse). It does seem unclear how much of Blagojevich's claims about Jackson, Jr. are true:

"However, federal officials caution that they have no evidence, other than statements made by Blagojevich, about whether Candidate 5 actually made any improper approaches to the governor. No conversations with Candidate 5 were ever picked up on any of the bugs or wiretaps."
