TV on the Internet

I just read about Sling.com, a new website that streams television shows for free. I haven't really checked it out yet, but the review I read said it is about the same as Hulu.

The sites I know of for watching TV online:
Hulu
Sidereel
Sling

Anyone know of any others?

  1. My brother says he watches everything on this site:

  2. i usually have good luck just googling "watch [name of show]" - i've found really high-quality streaming eps of both battlestar galactica and weeds on totally random websites (ie, not collections of links to streaming shows like the other sites mentioned above) this way.

  3. also watchTVsitcoms.com (perplexingly, not limited to sitcoms)

  4. There's an article on watching TV on the internet in today's Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/04/technology/personaltech/04basics.html?8ur&emc=ur

it's kind of silly, though, because it was clearly written by someone who thinks it's revolutionary not to own a TV and watches stuff mostly on the network sites (though she does mention Sling!). She also talks about a friend who set up a projector to play stuff from her laptop, and all i can say is that my laptop/TV setup -my latest major accomplishment - would put her to shame.

i'm also not thrilled about her grouping of all young women into "the cosmotini set."
