I've been saying for a while that I liked this idea a lot. I mean, who was more experience, more contacts, etc.? The only problem? I meant the other Clinton.
Hillary Clinton is apparently being thrown around as a possible secretary of state. I, for one, don't buy it. I don't see how that helps Obama govern. I don't see how that helps Hillary get done things that she wants to get done. I don't see how it helps anybody. If she gets a cabinet post I'd think it would be Health and Human Services or something like that.
I do like Bill Richardson as secretary of state. Not sure how I'd feel about John Kerry - of course, I did want him to be president once.

1. Did you really want/desire Kerry as president? Were you a strong supporter? Or just an advocate for the lesser of two evils?
ReplyDelete2. Maybe it's time for Hillary to take a new edge in the political realm. Strides are being made in health care by other Senators. Perhaps she should be redefining herself post-2008.
3. That is not to say I necessarily support this idea. I'm not sure how I feel about this, or who should be appointed Secretary of State.
1. I don't know. I know what you mean, but as I think about it, honestly yes. I probably did. I mean, there's no comparison between Kerry and Obama, but in 2004, I would say I was really excited about the prospect of Kerry being president. I volunteered for each guy once (I know, I'm a quitter) though I didn't donate as much to Kerry as Obama. I don't think Kerry would have been a great president, but I do think he would have been a good one.
ReplyDelete2. OK, good point. She really should re-brand herself. I guess with Kennedy's ability to do stuff diminishing quickly this Baucus guy will be taking over health, so maybe SOS would be a good psoition for her.
3. I still like Bill Richardson. And if he's committed to going all-in on this bipartisanship thing, maybe Hagel/Lugar aren't bad choices. After all, we're not talking about the vice presidency anymore.
