BTW, under "Welfare/Unemployment" there is a COBRA subsidy listed. If you don't know (yay for my work!) COBRA is the law that allows laid off workers to continue to participate in their employers' health plans, provided they pay the full cost of the premiums (100%) plus an administrative fee (2%).

ReplyDeleteFor one, it's tough to ask someone to pay the full cost of something that has a price that is inflated because it is tax-subsidized.
Two, it's tough to pay full medical premiums when you don't have a job.
