I'm not naive about the relationship between the way someone looks in reality and the way they look on a magazine cover, but I found this to be astonishing ...
Possibly my favorite SI Swimsuit cover ever
I feel like I once borrowed a calculator from this chick at summer camp

She's still pretty damn hot in the second photo. Looks to me like any number of romantic comedies about an "ugly" (ponytail, glasses) girl who gets a makeover.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt, she's definitely attractive. But looking at that picture gives me much more of a "she looks like a sweet girl that would probably be nice to date" vibe than the "I can totally see 15-year-old boys across the world locking themselves in their rooms with pictures of her" vibe.
ReplyDeleteAnd attractive or not - the two photos are just so different.
Indeed, the transformation is very surprising.
ReplyDeleteI just looked through the swimsuit issue, possibly for the first time in my life. I am shocked by many things. Why is modeling the equivalent of pulling your clothes off on camera? They are not modeling anything. Their "modeling" accomplishes nothing- do the boutiques really get higher sales because of these photos? (This doesn't actually bother me, I understand the actual intentions of the issue, but it just crossed my mind that maybe they should call it and themselves something else.) I guess the whole thing is more pornographic than I expected. Why does SI do this? Do they have any other content related/similar to the swimsuit issue throughout the year?
Another thing, there were a lot of ads for cologne, with the little pull out tab of the scent. I didn't know SI would have that...
And about all of the advertisements...I guess I don't see print ads very often, especially marketed towards the SI audience, but I was surprised by the amount of homoerotic material, especially in the swimsuit issue.
AND I am surprised that SI has more swimsuit-related content online, including video!
Another transformation.
