Arrested Development Movie

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but this interview gets me close to nail-in-the-coffin status on giving up on Michael Cera.  (The word "d-bag" comes to mind ...)

  1. That sucks. The fact that he intentionally confuses the discussion (e.g. "Is the Arrested Development question: Why did you make that show?") makes me much more likely to blame him completely. Before this I thought maybe he was being treated unfairly.

Thoughts on what to do if Cera won't do the movie? Do they cast someone who looks like him? Someone who looks different but could pull off the character? Do they just have his lines read from off-screen? Or, does the movie get scrapped?

  2. Well, at least this is the one show where, if they have to recast or exclude the character, the writers will be able to come up with a pretty funny explanation that takes some serious jabs at the real-life drama.

  3. Augh, George Michaellll! Come on!

Michael Cera's being an idiot here. How could this film be anything other than good for his career? I think he's past the point of being typecast into the character...

I hope they don't re-cast. George Michael isn't like Marta; fans actually care about him, and this film would really be as much a gift to the loyal fans as anything. I assume/hope they'd do something clever to keep GM out of the story.
