Screw you, Drudge

I've got to say - the right wing media largely deserves credit for being nicer to Obama than I was expecting (except you, Sean.)

Well, add Matt Drudge to the list. Don't know how long it'll still look like this, but despite it being increasingly apparent that Obama had nothing to do with the Blagojevich scandal in any way, Drudge Report has a black-and-white (read: menacing) photo of Obama and Blagojevich (possibly whispering?) with the headline PRESIDENT-ELECT INTERVIEWED BY PROSECUTORS.

That's not helping this country, dude.

  1. When did the line between hardcore conservatives and assholes disappear? Why didn't these two get the memo that the line is coming back?

  2. Not to be a dick, but...why do you guys even read Drudge? What do you get from it that you don't get from legit news outlets/non-misleading and snipey blogs?

  3. It's a decent point. I constantly listen to conservative radio and stuff to get a feel for what the other side is thinking and doing, but Drudge is so bad that it really doesn't even serve that purpose. Yep.

  4. Exactly. It's crossed Bart's line from conservative to join Hannity in the asshole camp.

  5. The thing is though, that even Sean Hannity is "useful" in the sense that the stupid crap he says is the stupid crap that stupid people end up saying (just think about the election).

But Drudge - I don't know. The headlines always beg the question, but stupidly. Like right now I noticed there's something about the semi-failing of the New York Times. And based on previous postings, it almost seems like he wants you to say "Hey, print media is dying, and print media is uber-liberal, so clearly America is getting more conservative."

And the problem is that that's not only stupid, it doesn't even make sense to stupid people. That's not an argument you're going to hear from that woman who asked John McCain about Obama being an A-rab. So it doesn't give me any useful information.

So thanks again for fixing this. Know any better conservative news sources, stupid or not (remember, Hannity passes my test ...)?

  6. I generally hit up the National Review for my conservative dose, but that probably won't help much with the "what are stupid people thinking?" question. Plenty of smart and stupid people listen to O'Reilly, though, and I feel like I hear his sentiments echoed often by the conversatives I speak to.
